Justice Mandhata Seetharama Murti hails from a family of Lawyers of Kakinada of East Godavari District. He is a third-generation Lawyer in the hierarchy and had actively practiced for 12 years, until his selection as a District Judge. He, an experienced Lawyer and a Judge, had also specialized in teaching and training Judicial Officers and Ministerial Officers of the Courts in the State of Andhra Pradesh. While working as a Senior Faculty and Additional Director of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy he had compiled reading and reference material for the various academic programmes and in the process had worked with Judges of all Cadres, Academicians, Teachers, Jurists and Faculty and had compiled teaching materials and reference materials in the field of law and allied subjects.
On his direct appointment in December, 1996 as a District Judge Gr. II in the Andhra Pradesh Higher Judicial Services, he had participated in the two months foundation course for the Direct Recruit District Judges in the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy. Afterwards, he had worked as Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases-cum-II Additional District Judge, Nellore, III Additional District and Sessions Judge, Kurnool, Senior Faculty and Additional Director, Judicial Academy, Judge, Family Court, Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases-cum-III Additional District and Sessions Judge, Special Judge for CBI Cases, Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Visakhapatnam, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Vizianagaram District, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Ranga Reddy District, Registrar General of the High Court, Chairman, Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal, Visakhapatnam, Chief Judge, City Civil Court, Hyderabad District.
He was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and sworn in as Additional Judge of the High Court on 23.10.2013.
He was born on 16th of January. He holds a Degree in B. Sc., and Degree in Law, both from Andhra University. He won the Gold Medal for proficiency in Law of Torts in first Law apart from other prizes. He was awarded best trainee District Judge Gold Medal for the year 1996-97 by the Academy.
He is married to Mrs. Srimatha and the couple is blessed with a daughter Ms. Srutha Keerthi and a son Master M. S. Atchyut Chittenna. He is passionate in meditation, listening to music, travelling and spending time with children.
Appointed as Judge of High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of Andhra Pradesh and assumed charge as such on the afternoon of 02-03-2016.
